While going through some of the Ryan family albums with Grandma June this past week, we (of course) came across many photographs of her parent’s homestead (Elvira & James Ryan). While reminiscing, she kept bringing up Grandma Ryan’s cook stove that was bought the same year she was born – 1928. I can’t imagine how many pounds of meat and bread went through that cook stove, and from what Dad (Elbert Loomis) tells me, there were a few cookies and pies as well. Grandma June said she would sure like a picture with that ol’ stove; I think she was determined to prove she was in better shape. A big thank you to Ed and Reid Ryan, who met us out at the homestead and got Grandma her picture.
